Sculpture

In key stage one, children explore different rigid and malleable materials such as clay. Here year two pupils have created their own poppies in honour of Remembrance Day. The children explored the shapes by rolling, kneading and shaping the clay to construct their own poppies. Once in key stage two, children begin to explore clay further by developing skills such as coiling, creating slip and making a slab.

In key stage two, children use a variety of materials to create their own sculptures, including, Mod Roc, Papier Maché and natural materials. Here children have assembled their own Ephemeral Art using natural materials. They explored the artist Andy Goldsworthy and created their own Land Art in his style.
