Nursery Curriculum
Please find attached our Nursery LTP Skills and Knowledge Progression for the seven areas of learning and development, which shape our EYFS curriculum alongside the Characteristics of Effective Learning. All these areas are important and inter-connected. The seven areas are as follows:
Three prime areas which ignite curiosity and enthusiasm for learning, forming relations and thriving are:
- Communication and language
- Physical development
- Personal, social and emotional development
Four specific areas (through which the three prime areas are strengthened and applied) are:
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the world
- Expressive arts and design
Being Ready For Nursery
Being ready for Nursery helps our children to feel happy, confident and settled from the moment they arrive. Our ‘Nursery Reminders’ poster is a helpful reminder of the things your child should bring with them each day.
Please help us by checking that everything is clearly named and that your child has everything they need for a busy day of learning, playing and exploring.
Developing these little routines together also helps our children to build independence, confidence and responsibility – important skills as they begin their Nursery journey.
Thank you for helping us make sure every child is ready to learn, ready to play and ready for Nursery!
