Other Forms of Enrichment

At Westleigh Methodist Primary School we want our children to have a range of experiences. This includes the chance to participate in performances for an audience. The aim is to build confidence, communication, creativity and collaboration. We want our children to feel part of the community.

It allows our children to express themselves, their feelings and emotions.

It is lovely to share our learning and performances with families too!

  • Nursery Nativity 13.12.24

We film our youngest children in class as they dance, sing and perform their Nativity. It is then shown as a fantastic film in the hall so families and children can share in their brilliance.  Not a dry eye in ‘the house’!

  • Reception Nativity 17.12.24

The Reception children shone in this year's Nativity. They confidently performed in the hall for their families. We were all so proud!

  • KS1 Nativity 18.12.24

Year 1 and 2 performed their Christmas Production of 'Baa Baa Bethlehem' with gusto and confidence. They sang, danced and narrated with confidence and enthusiasm. It was a fantastic show with beautiful singing.

  • KS2 Carol Service 16.12.24

The carol service this year was a spectacular show. It was lovely to come together with families in the hall to share Christmas carols - it definitely got us in the spirit of Christmas. It was also lovely to have so much positive feedback from parents and carers too.

  • Christmas Spectacular Day 19.12.24

This year's Christmas Spectacular Day was aptly named as it was definitely ‘spectacular’. The children took part in Christmas arts and crafts, enjoyed Christmas party food and a Christmas disco. The day was topped off with a visit by Father Christmas to every class to deliver all our children a present. It was lovely to see the children’s smiling faces and hear the laughter and music throughout school.

  • Year 6 class worship 29.10.24

The children shared information about their class value of JUSTICE. They read bible stories about justice and biographies of key, inspirational figures such as Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King.

  • Remembrance Day Service 11.11.24

On Monday 11th November 2024, our school held a service with families, Epworth Trust and staff from the Startwell Centre. Children thought about the importance of remembrance and held a minute's silence. As part of the service, all classes laid a wreath of hand-made poppies and children in Year 3 and Year 6 carried out a 'March Past'. The Ethos Committee led us in a prayer and read the Kohima Epitaph. Year 6 children read a poem entitled, 'In Waters Deep'. Respect is important at Westleigh Methodist Primary School.
